A magnificent pair of earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in vibrant 15kt yellow gold, these earrings begin with a simple earring wire atop a stippled oval surmount. The surmount centers a delicate Single Cut diamond in a belcher setting. The bottom of each buttercup petal is lined with black enamel to match the rich enamel oval that contrasts beautifully against the golden setting. A dainty twisted rope motif encircles the piece. An ornate, diamond-encrusted ribbon detail hangs from a hinge below, its eleven Single Cut diamonds glittering in open-backed settings. The breathtaking oval setting is even more ornate than the surmount; An incredible Pear Cut diamond rests at the center of a?feminine belcher setting. The Pear Cut diamonds have G/H color and VS2-SI1 clarity, and eight five-pointed stars decorate the black enamel oval, each one set with a glinting Rose Cut diamond. The total approximate diamond weigh is 2.25ctw between the pair, and the design is completed by a delicate twisted rope border and a dangling sphere. The earrings frame the face beautifully and swing with gentle motion when worn. These spectacular, dramatic earrings are a gorgeous example of fine Victorian jewelry and would be a special addition?to a collection.
